What is Etsy's maximum file size?
There isn't a published hard cap. Etsy's guidance is that images over 1 MB may not finish uploading, especially on slower connections. Treat 1 MB as the practical ceiling — this tool keeps you well under it.
Can I upload WebP to Etsy?
No. Etsy accepts .jpg, .gif, .png, .svg and .heic only. If you optimise your own site in WebP, convert to JPEG before uploading here — this tool outputs JPEG by default.
Why is my PNG showing a black background on Etsy?
Etsy doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas render solid black. Flatten your design onto a white or mockup background and export as JPEG for the listing photo.
Should I upload at 3,000 px to be safe?
No — it makes the 1 MB target harder and Etsy compresses it down anyway. 2,000 px is enough for sharp zoom on any current display, which is what this tool presets to.
