Frequently Asked Questions

What size should eBay photos be?

1,600 × 1,600 px, JPEG, 200 – 800 KB. That's double eBay's 800 px zoom threshold and a fraction of the 12 MB cap — this tool is preset to it.

Why isn't zoom working on my eBay listing?

Your longest side is under 800 px. eBay's 500 px minimum lets the file upload but doesn't turn click-to-zoom on. Re-export at 1,600 px and zoom activates.

Does eBay require a white background?

No — it's recommended, not required, and any slot can use any background. White still reads more cleanly at thumbnail size in search grids.

Do I need to compress if I'm already under 12 MB?

Yes. The cap was never the real constraint — mobile load speed and bulk-upload reliability are. A 300 KB photo and a 10 MB photo look identical to the buyer, but only one renders before they scroll past.
